PASSPORT SERVICES

All Indian citizens intending to travel abroad must hold a valid passport. Our services include providing consultations on necessary documents, assisting with appointment bookings, and guiding you through various passport application processes tailored to your specific circumstances.

The Government of India issues three main types of passports:

1. Ordinary Passport: This type typically contains either 36 or 60 pages. For adults, its validity is generally 10 years from the date of issue and can be renewed. However, for minors, its validity is limited to five years or until they reach the age of 18, whichever comes first.

2. Diplomatic Passport: This passport is exclusively issued to designated members authorised by the Government of India.

3. Official Passport: Designated Government servants or individuals specifically authorised by the Government for official assignments abroad receive this type of passport.

This applies to citizens who apply for their passport for the first time and never had passport in the past. Exception would be for applicants who need to obtain their first Ordinary Passport and previously held Official/Diplomatic Passport, then they still need to apply for Fresh Passport, and vice versa.

This process is applicable for applicants who need new passport for any of the following reasons:
  • Change in existing personal particulars.
  • Validity expired within 3 years / Due to expire within one year.
  • Validity expired more than 3 years ago.
  • Exhaustion of pages.
  • Damaged passport.
  • Lost passport.

There are two processing times – Regular and Tatkaal.

Regular processing means that the passport will be issued in approximately 1 month from the date of submitting application at the Passport Seva Kendra.

Tatkaal processing takes anywhere between 2 – 7 working days from the date of submitting application at the Passport Seva Kendra.

Please note, these are not guaranteed timelines and may vary in some cases.

Passport fees depend on your circumstances.

Adult passport applications:

- Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport:

  • 36 pages - Rs. 1,500/-
  • 60 pages - Rs. 2,000/-

- Replacement of Passport in exchange of lost, damaged, or stolen passport:

  • 36 pages – Rs. 3,000/-
  • 60 pages -Rs. 3,500/-

- Replacement of Passport for deletion of ECR / Change in personal particulars:

  • 36 pages – Rs. 1,500/-
  • 60 pages - Rs. 2,000/-

Minor passport applications (below 18 years of age):

- Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport:

  • 36 pages (5 years validity or till the minor attains the age of 18 whichever is earlier) – Rs. 1,000/-
  • 36 pages (10 years validity) - Rs. 1,500/-

- Replacement of Passport for deletion of ECR/Change in personal particulars:

  • 36 pages (5 years validity or till the minor attains the age of 18 whichever is earlier) - Rs. 1,000/-
  • 36 pages (10 years validity) - Rs. 1,500/-

The Regular Service fees (mentioned above) are payable online prior booking the submission appointment. Online passport fee payment and booking an appointment are taken care of by Samyama Team.

Tatkaal Service fee is an additional fee (to the above-mentioned fees) of Rs. 2,000/- payable directly by the applicant at the Passport Office. It is payable in cash, upon Passport Officer’s confirmation that the applicant is eligible to avail Tatkaal service.

OCI SERVICES

This document is issued for:

  • citizens of foreign countries who have moved outside of India at some point and surrendered their Indian nationality.
  • were born abroad and never had an Indian citizenship but are of Indian origin.
  • are foreign spouses of Indian citizens.
  • currently hold PIO Card and now wish to apply for OCI Card.

OCI Card is valid for life. However, new OCI has got to be re-issued each time a new passport is issued up to the completion of 20 years of age and once after completion of 50 years of age. Re-issuance of OCI is not mandatory each time a new passport is issued between 21-50 years of age. However, if the applicant wishes to obtain new OCI, he/she can apply for the same.

The fees will differ depending on circumstances and type of application.

If the application is submitted in India:

  • Fresh OCI application - INR 15,000.
  • Conversion of PIO to OCI card – INR 5,500.
  • Re-issuance of duplicate OCI documents in case of loss/damage – INR 5,500
  • Re-issuance of OCI documents in case of issuance of new passport, change of personal particulars, etc. – INR 1,400
  • Change of address/occupation - free

If the application is submitted outside of India (payable to equivalent amount in local currency):

  • Fresh OCI application - US$ 275
  • Conversion of PIO to OCI card – US$ 100
  • Re-issuance of duplicate OCI documents in case of loss/damage – US $ 100
  • Re-issuance of OCI documents in case of issuance of new passport, change of personal particulars, etc. – US $ 25
  • Change of address/occupation– free.

Minimum 1 month from the time of submission of application.
